*Workshop for Specially Abled Persons : 16 Sep 2021
Adults with Special need are the most neglected section of the society and due to lack of opportunity and self-reliance; they do not get the deserving place in society. To Empower Specially Abled Persons and Spread Awareness amongst them on future prospects and employment opportunities, Army Camp Langate along with, a Gujrat based NGO, Spreading Smile Charitable Trust’conducted a workshop for Specially Abled Persons of the area.
The workshop was conducted as part of the project of the NGO “UMMED” A Ray of Hope. The workshop was conducted by Mrs Nishtha Thaker Anand (Suffering from genetic disorder), Managing Director and Founder Trustee, ‘Spreading Smile Charitable Trust’ included series of lectures mainly focusing on employment and job avenues available for Specially Abled Persons in the society and also highlighted aspects of Medical, Psychological, Social, Economic and Life Skills related to them.
A total of 30 Special Abled Persons attended the workshop and it was an interactive session wherein Specially Abled Persons highlighted the difficulties faced by them in their day-to-day lives. Mrs Nishtha Thaker and her team suggested various methods to channelise their energies in the right direction* and also advised them to maintain a positive frame of mind.
The Awam, Opinion Makers of the society and the parents of Specially Abled Children appreciated the gesture and requested for conduct of more such workshops frequently for benefit of Specially Abled Persons
