Kashmiri youth gets “Business leader of the year” Award

Clothing partner: Ashish Mukherjee

Srinagar 21 APRIL: Son of our soil has made J&K proud Khalid Wani an Entrepreneur and is the Director of Wani Industries Pvt limited, who hails from Srinagar Kashmir once again bagged the “Business Leader of the year award” by Asian African Leadership forum, The award is to recognize global achievers for sustainable future in Asia and Africa,
Talking to the Takhleeq time’s newspaper Khalid said it’s hard to put this feeling into words, it’s a huge honor for me to receive this award for being the business leader of the year, he said I’m deeply honored by Asian African chambers and commerce industry for this recognition of my work.

The founder-CEO of Khalid Wani Consulting Group, Wani has a vivid experience of 16 years. Now the revelation: he’s only 36. Presently, you may find him shuttling between calls and meetings at his Delhi office as he advises A-list politicians, actors, and sportspeople, including race car driving champion Gaurav Gill, in fields ranging from marketing strategy to policy formulation to trend forecasting. The company flourished even during the pandemic when other businesses were struggling to survive. And while his company may be just relatively new, his zeal isn’t newfound. Music Matters (MM, established 2007), the company credited for fostering the culture of live concerts at college festivals in the Indian subcontinent, was his first venture that soon grew popular enough to expand to Europe. Post this, he founded two more successful businesses (electric vehicles and food trucks), each with a distinct first-mover advantage. Then he finally realized his true calling: consulting and strategizing, which led to the birth of KWCG. Hailing from a humble but dynamic Kashmiri business family shaped his work ethic: he personally attends to each client and customizes his strategy after a thorough analysis. This, along with his firm’s lower-than-Big-4-prices, has given KWCG many high-profile clients, ranging from international clients to national sports leagues (like IPL team Delhi DareDevils) to global brands (like Aaquib Wani Design which is a Forbes listed company). And these are just the ones that are publicly known. But Wani doesn’t spend all of his potent energy in guiding large corporations and individuals out of their slumps; rather, he directs some of it towards arousing the entrepreneurial spirit of the underprivileged and incubating start-ups. Unlike many, this pro bono work is not a farce for publicity. It stems from his deeply personal retrospection of not having a bona fide mentor while growing up. What sets Wani apart is not simply his expansive portfolio, but the multitude of fields it covers – evincing his all-rounded resourcefulness. This often gets recognized by the way of several accolades, the most recent one being a nomination for Emerging Leader of the Year by the Asian African Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
