Demand quarrying licence for Pantha Chowk, Athwajan, Zewan; disposal permits for Wuyan, Khrew, Bajnari areas, pledge mining through scientific; Com Mining assures all possible support
Srinagar, Aug 4: Young BJP leader and DDC member for Khonmoh Er Aijaz Hussian today led a delegation of quarry association and those associated with mining profession who met Commisoner J&K Mining department shri Amit Sharma.
The delegation headed by Er Aijaz, comprised president Himalyan Quarry Association Muhammad Maqbool Parra and the people associtaed with construction material from Bajnari, Khrew and Wuyan areas. The delegation apprised the Commisoner Mining about the problems being confronted by them espeically those related to quarrying and disposal of construction material in their respective areas.
The delgation told Commisoner Mining and that thousands of people are dependent on mining and their families are directly dependent on the mining and quarrying activities. Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Er Aijaz said that even though disposal permits have been issued to the people associtaed with quarrying but they are yet to get quarrying licences.
Er Aijaz said that the concerned departments have already stated that there can be mining through scientific method in these areas and thus the people associated with the business should be allowed to carry out quarrying and mining through scientific method without any further delay.
Er Aijaz pleaded that since livelihood of hundreds of families is associated with mining and quarrying, the people associated with the trade should be allowed to carry out their work in a hassle free and smooth manner. The Commissioner Mining gave patient hearing to the delgation and assured them every possible support and help besides immediate redressal of their grievances.
Sharma told the delegation that the present government was committed to serve people and that the Mining department had a great potential to generate hundreds of employments. He said the issues raised by Er Aijaz will be taken up on fast track basis for redressal.
