SRINAGAR: Refuting reports of non-local labourers being told to vacate Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir Police Friday said that migrant workers are only advised not to roam at night in vulnerable localities in the city.
“What’s happening in Kashmir? Lots of non-locals are being told to vacate Srinagar. Business houses are being instructed to make sure these non-locals reach their hometown safely”, a Twitter user said.
In a reply, Srinagar Police informed, “This is incorrect, outside labourers are only advised not to roam at night in vulnerable localities & landlords have been advised to install CCTVs, where they work/stay. These are routine measures for security. In any case, seasonal labourers every year move with the onset of winter.”
