74th Republic Day celebrated in Kulgam

DDC Chairperson unfurls tricolor at DPL Kulgam, took salute at march past; Scintillating colorful cultural programmes featuring patriotic and cultural themes were presented by cultural clubs, artists, and students; Good number of people witnessed the function; Officials and media persons were awarded in their respective fields

Kulgam, Jan 26: The 74th Republic day was celebrated in District Kulgam with highest fervor and gaiety wherein tricolor was unfurled at each Police Station/Police establishment and other Govt offices. The main function in this behalf was held at District Police Lines Kulgam in which DDC Chairperson Kulgam Mohd Afzal Parray (chief guest) alongwith SSP Kulgam Sahil Sarangal unfurled the national flag, inspected the Parade and took salute from the Parade.

The Parade was commanded by DySP (Prob) shri. Vikram Nag-JKPS, consisting the contingents of CRPF, J&K Police, J&K Armed Police, J&K Lady Police, J&K Home guard and students of various schools of the district Kulgam.

DM Kulgam Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-din Bhat IAS, DySP DAR Kulgam Shri. Rajinder Singh-JKPS, DySP HQR Kulgam Shri Ghulam Muhamad Bhat-JKPS and other senior officers/officials of civil administration, Police, CRPF were present.

Besides, scintillating colorful cultural programmes featuring patriotic and cultural themes were presented by cultural clubs, artists, and students of various schools including bangra dance performed by the contingent of CRPF 18 Bn. Later Prizes were distributed among the best contingents of Parade, other participants, best dedicated Police officers/Officials, Civilians by the chief guest.

Good number of people witnessed the function. Keeping in view the present security scenario, elaborate security arrangements were made by the District Police Kulgam alongwith other security forces.
